Alcohol and medicine have a long and proud history. It has been used as everything from a digestive to a disinfectant. Dogs bearing tiny casks of booze were used to rescue travellers from the threat of avalanche in the Swiss Alps, while a shot of gin was known to ward off the plague in Medieval times. Indeed, where would the British Empire have been without gin around to make their anti-malaria tonic drinkable? In ‘the DOCTOR’ we believe we continued in that grand tradition of people ‘exaggerating’ the medicinal powers of alcohol. This product is both refreshing and invigorating, just want the doctor ordered and hey it’s made from kale too, so you know it has to be good for you!
A front to back, well-rounded palate; with notes of juniper, herbal tones, fronted by dill, sweetness from almond, a warm woody note to end from cinnamon and roots.
About Tiny Bear Distillery: It all started with a question, "If you could do anything, and money wasn't an issue, what would you do?”. The answer "Open a distillery".
It kind of just made sense. Damian and Amanda always enjoyed the Melbourne Gin scene, with a love of everything craft. From that moment on, they stopped looking for a house to live in, but rather a place to build a distillery. In 2017, they settled on a place (it was being constructed), a name and an agreement to put it all on the line. It took until June 2018 to open and since that day Damian and Amanda live by one motto. Try and make the gin better every day!
They pride themselves on doing absolutely everything themselves. Tiny Bear Distillery makes its own base spirit from a wine made with kale, sugar, water and yeast. They then distil the wine into vodka by running it through their 6 Plate Australian Built copper column, and then turn this vodka into their core range of gins as well as a few experimental ideas.
